Fourth Wing

Author: Rebecca Yarros

Anytime someone asked me what Fourth Wing is about, I always compare it to the movie series Divergent just with dragons. Fourth Wing is what happens when you take a deadly military academy, throw in some dragons, sprinkle in forbidden romance, and then stir it all with a plot that makes your heart race faster than the dragons in the sky. Violet Sorrengail, our protagonist, who’s the tiniest human being that gets thrown into a brutal training ground where the motto seems to be “do or die” and honestly, they weren’t kidding.

At the Academy, Violet quickly learns that surviving isn’t just about strength but it’s about who you trust, and maybe who you want to trust. Xayden, the brooding, swoon-worthy guy with a ton of baggage (shocking, right?) lol I noticed I am always reading books that most of the male characters are always grumpy. The chemistry between these two? Electric. The tension? Delicious. But also, I’m kinda like, “Can we just skip the drama and get to the dragon-riding already?”

Now for sure, there are moments where the emotional intensity makes you want to throw the book at the wall, but it’s also the kind of intensity that keeps you flipping pages in a panic. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, boom, the plot hits you with another twist, and suddenly you’re like, “Wait, I need answers now.”

Also, its 500 pages long, so for anyone who hates long reads not sure if this one if for you, but I would say give it a try you honestly never know. I have never been the type to read fantasy until I read this series. I just bought the third book and can’t wait to read it. It amazes me that I am actually fascinated reading about dragons and shit lol.

Bottom line: Fourth Wing is a thrilling mix of romance, danger, and dragons that will keep you hooked, but the emotional rollercoaster might leave you needing a nap (and possibly a therapist).

rate : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 – dragons, chaos, drama, and daring tension
